Impact of molecular structure of PP on thermo-rheological properties of polymer-modified bitumen

Polymers have been widely used to improve the performance of bitumen. Polypropylene (PP), one most common plastomer for bitumen modification, is utilized specially in roofing application adding up 30 wt% This article presents an investigation four different polypropylene (PP) polymers having differences tacticity (atactic and isotactic), molecular weight (Mw ~ 12 000 g/mol ~250 g/mol) functional side groups (polar) producing modified with 5, 10 16 polymer content, respectively. To investigate resulting polymer-modified (PMB) dynamical shear rheometer (DSR), dynamic scanning calorimetry (DSC) fluorescence microscopy (FM) performed. The aim study understand dispersion within its effect on thermo-mechanical PMB.
